Antalis UK/Pureprint Case Study

Using recycled paper to create demand for HP Indigo press

When looking to create demand for its new HP Indigo 10000 B2 digital press, Pureprint wanted to show the types of communication pieces that could be produced on the new kit; namely high quality printed material including point of sale, direct mail, packaging and fine art.

Integral to the campaign was the material and Pureprint,  turned to Antalis to supply a recycled stock. Cyclus Offset was selected for its 100% recycled content and having performed well previously on their Indigo 7500.  Commenting on the paper selection, Richard Owers, Marketing Director said: “Cyclus Offset did exactly what we wanted it to.  It created a newspaper feel but with high quality colour reproduction. The stand out result has generated a significant number of new orders of over £500k.  Antalis supported us quickly when we wanted more material to produce the reprints.”

Initially 3,000 copies of the brochure were printed with variable customer data, but due to the success of the printed piece a further 4,000 copies were printed.

Continues Owers, “When Pureprint installed one of the first B2 sheet size HP Indigo digital printing presses, we designed a brochure to show off two of the unique features of this press.  The first was the amazing printing quality on uncoated papers and the second was the opportunity to use a large page size. The result was a 500mm x 350mm page size, 12 page broadsheet produced on Cyclus Offset. Featuring an image from the Bowie exhibition at the V&A on the front cover, the publication has been a huge success. Since publication we have had many requests to produce jobs of a similar size particularly on Cyclus.”
