The new HP Indigo Tool
Our new HP Indigo Tool was well-received by visitors to our stand. The tool details all of the HP Indigo approved products available from Antalis and includes HP’s star rating system to indicate each product’s performance on HP Indigo machines. Divided into four categories – Coated paper, Uncoated paper, Creative paper and Specialities – the tool also contains printed samples of the products with information about the different printing techniques used on each.
I-Tone technology has been used on the creative papers and on some of the uncoated grades such as Olin.
Alan Rigglesford from Click Digital Printers was impressed with the new HP Indigo Tool, and with the inclusion of products such as Priplak® in it, as he believes this will enable his team to target new market sectors.
Mohawk alliance
Herve Poncin Chief Operating Office of Antalis International and Chris Harrold VP business development at Mohawk presented details of the two organisations’ new alliance. This strategic alliance between our sister company Arjowiggins Creative Papers and North-American fine paper manufacturer Mohawk means they will share best-in-class manufacturing capabilities, facilities, technologies, sales and marketing resources and expertise. Mohawk has granted Arjowiggins Creative Papers exclusive rights to manufacture the legendary Superfine and to use the proprietary i-Tone® treatment for digital printing.
In addition, a number of other digital creative papers manufactured by Arjowiggins Creative Papers will benefit from i-Tone treatment for enhanced digital printing. More information in due course.
Antalis will be launching the Mohawk Superfine range in July.
Inkovation
It was good to see three UK printers receiving awards:
– DG3 – books
– Pureprint – direct mail
– Precision Print – photo speciality
Congratulations to all the winners, and a special note to PCL digital – congratulations on your nomination, ‘Feeling Curious’ was a winner in our eyes and the chocolate eggs went down a treat!
Investment
It was very encouraging to see some UK printers making some big capital investments at the show. FE Burman purchased the HP 10000 press, which they will be installing in this month. FE Burman director, Ade Onabanjo, was very happy with his purchase, which he says will open up many new opportunities for them. Ade also showed me a photo of how they had used Antalis’ cubes to build a wall in their client room – it looks fantastic and if you would like some of the cubes to do something similar then please get on touch.
Proco also announced a one million pound investment with the purchase of an HP Indigo 10000 B2 press. John Baily, managing director of Proco said he was very excited and couldn’t wait to get it shipped from Dublin.
So that was the fourth Dscoop EMEA, we certainly enjoyed it and we hope our customers found it productive and gained inspiration for their business. We look forward to next year’s event.
