Creating value-added print through innovative and creative substrates

With the continued onslaught of digital media, print continues its head-on battle to maintain a profile and position in this multi-media world. Likewise, printers are constantly looking at ways to maintain a viable business by diversifying in to new markets and expanding their service offering as well as looking to introduce something a little different that will help their business stand out in this increasingly competitive industry.

Today, high quality output, personalised and short run print is pretty much a given, so more and more printers are looking to new and innovative substrates to give their work that extra dimension. Choosing the right substrate, such as a highly textured paper or one with an unusual finish or colour can transform a good piece of print in to an outstanding, visually appealing ‘must-have’ product. In addition, there are also a growing range of ‘ready-made’ media that provide limitless opportunities to migrate from ‘plain’ print to the production of more innovative products such as point of sale and promotional merchandise, helping printers enter new markets.

With an almost limitless supply of innovative and speciality media and pre-formed creative substrates, printers now have the tools to enable them to look beyond printed paper to explore the potential of these products to break in to new markets, attract new customers stand out in the printing world as an all-round print solutions provider.
