Antalis’ THE BOOK Uncovers the 50 Most Inspiring Interior Design Projects

the book

Antalis the leading distributor of papers, visual communication products and packaging solutions in Europe, has launched THE BOOK; a creative showcase of the most innovative projects in the world of personalised interior design.

THE BOOK provides a visual platform for the top 50 projects of the Antalis Interior Design Awards; an international competition aimed at interior designers, architects, printers and brand owners, which saw 341 projects submitted from entrants around the globe. The nine winning projects are featured in THE BOOK, along with other inspiring works from the competition representing six industry categories: Hospitality, Restaurant, Retail, Office, Home and Public Building.

The common theme linking all of the projects was that each utilised at least one product from the Antalis Coala portfolio, which includes a wide range of self-adhesive vinyls, wallpapers, textiles & canvas, magnetics, amongst others; all designed to facilitate creativity, especially for architects and interior designers.

Xavier Jouvet, Group Marketing & Purchasing Director at Antalis International, comments: “With THE BOOK, we wanted to create a hotbed of inspiration for all designers out there while supporting the development of printing technology in the world of personalised design. Interior designers, printers and brand owners all agree on the importance of personalisation, and its impact on creativity. We are therefore delighted to see all those visions of design and hope that they will inspire others to go even further.”

A winner in the Office Category for its impressive display of artistic print in an extraordinary wrapping project was Graphicomm Digital’s ‘metamorphosis’ of an old shipping container transformed into a stunning hillside art piece. Graphicomm Digital created a camouflage wrap using a number of high-resolution photographs of the surrounding landscape of the container, allowing it to be seamlessly integrated into the countryside scene using Coala 2d Dynamic Polymeric Gloss White for printing and wrapping and finished with Coala 2D Matt Laminate for extra protection. John Hardaker, director at Graphicomm Digital, commented: “When we were set a challenge to blend an unsightly piece of metal into the beautiful Cornish countryside, the natural beauty of the setting gave us the answer and we set about photographing and designing a graphic which could be used on the shipping container. Once the graphic was prepared we had to look at options for vinyl and after testing a range of products both for print and for application in-situ, the Coala vinyl and laminate stood out both for ease of use and cost-effectiveness. Antalis products have always been a huge part of our business and within the wide format side of our business the Coala range has become our number one choice both for usability and cost.”

In the Public Building Category, Phil Wrighton, Project Lead at Juice Creative Design, submitted his work on the award-winning ‘Murder, Mystery and Mayhem’ exhibition at the King Richard III Visitor Centre in Leicester; a highly visual introduction to the tumultuous times that surrounded King Richard III as he rose to power. He submitted the project for consideration after being impressed by the “high-quality durable and detailed finish” of Coala Silky Wallcover Textile used for the project. He commented: “We saw this as a great opportunity to showcase an amazing story and also by selecting Antalis’ Coala wallpaper, we could achieve a superb depth of colour and excellent finish to the display.”

With an exclusive run of copies, THE BOOK attempts to collate the varied artistic styles that exist worldwide, all whilst opening up the realm of possibilities to professionals in the interior design sector.
